Eve Maughan was born the 22nd of November, 1982 in London, England. She is the daughter of of Sharon and Trevor Maughan. She was raised both in Los Angeles, California as well as the United Kingdom. She attended Bedales School before taking her A Levels at Westminster School London. While in her gap year, she was a student at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and then read English in St Catherine's College Oxford. While at Oxford she was a student in the productions including An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers (which performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival) Scenes from an Execution as well as The Colour of Justice. Eve played a prominent role in BBC dramas including The Rotters Club Poirot & Hawking and the 2004 film Stage Beauty. Eve had a prominent role in two movies from 2006: Starter for 10 & Big Nothing. Both she as well as Simon Pegg acted with American accents. Since the beginning of 2006 she took her time in India to develop losing Gemma, a mini-series about backpackers. Eve was in Trevor Nunn's two productions. She appeared at The Royal Court Theatre in 2006 in Rock n Roll, a Tom Stoppard play. In 2007, she reprised the character. Her family is a multiracial background and is the daughter of an Indian-British father of British origin, Anthony Mitra, and an Irish-born mother Nora Downey. The English actress, who's middle-aged she has two brothers. Jason Mitra (older brother) and Guyan Mitra (younger brother). Her younger brother is famous journalist who's work has appeared in Lonely Planet and The Sunday Times.
